Summer XT Bible Study begins
Make the most of this summer! We will be studying the book of Galatians as a church beginning Wednesday, June 18th at 7:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Try to take time to read the entire book before coming and commit time for personal reflection. Let's anticipate how God will work in our midst as we give our summer to Him!

Spring Retreat 2008
Our annual Spring Retreat is coming soon! Our speakers will be Pastors William Kang and Manny Kim from Gracepoint Fellowship Church in Berkeley and the theme is "Reverence 4 God". The retreat will will take place from Friday, April 4th through Sunday, April 6th and it will be held at Camp Hammer in Boulder Creek in the Santa Cruz Mountains. We will be returning home in time for worship service at 1:30 P.M. in Palo Alto.

Easter Weekend
Come and join us this Sunday for Easter Worship Service! We will have a special celebration to remember Jesus' victory over death as well as a baptism service for those who made the decision to commit their lives to Him. Join us for a special lunch afterwards and the children will have fun as well. Don't miss this important holiday! On Friday, we will also have a Good Friday service at 7:30 p.m. We will partake in the Lord's Supper and remember why Jesus had to die for us.

What's happening

Campgrounds: We will most likely stay at "White Wolf" or "Tuolumne Meadows" campgrounds. These are along the route 120 in Yosemite National park. The elevation there is at least 8,000 ft so some people might get slight headache from the high elevation.
Possible Activities:
Thursday (if you are part of the early team) - We will relax by the beautiful Tanaya Lake (surrounded by alpine mountains...use your imagination but I think this the the most beautiful lake in the world!) and eat lunch. Find campsites and prepare for Friday Team.
Friday: most of the people will be arriving AFTERNOON...say 11am. Eat lunch at the campgrounds and head out to "Lambert Dome". The hike is about 3 hours total but the effect is equiv to a hike up to the top of Half Dome! Lambert Dome is actually higher than Half Dome!
Sat: Two options: Option 1: hike up to above 11,000 and walk on snow... Option 2. Drive to Glacier Point and hike down to the valley (6 hours). Both of these options give us amazingly spectacular views. However, option 2 requires 90 mins of driving each way. Either way, we should be on our way back home by 3 or 4 pm. We will be eating dinner on the way back and be back by 8 pm?
COST:
The approximate cost for the trip is $70-$80 depending on the cost of the rentals. This includes park admission, campground fees, food (at the campgrounds) and gas cost.
Rentals:
Following will be rented for you: TENTS, sleeping pads (not sleeping bags), lanterns, stoves.
Things to bring:
Hiking shoes (or at least good leather shoes), shorts, long pants, short sleeve shirts, light jacket, wool sweater (or equiv for layering), hat, sunglasses, backpack (small), sunscreen, Bible, toiletries, flashlight, sleeping bag (VERY IMPORTANT!!!), Walkie Talkie (Optional - channel 9 subchannel 13), bandanna, small towel (but no shower).
